The Roaming Remedy Project
Roaming Remedy is a grassroots project launched by Antebel Apothecary in partnership with the global non-profit group, Herbalists Without Borders. Both organizations embrace a collective vision of a shared community where all people have access to affordable herbal health & wellness essentials.
The project's mission is to connect people with plants, inspire creativity and teach others the joy of using plant-based, natural, wild gathered & organic remedies for everyday wellbeing.
Our goal is to become mobile by 2020. Funds raised through the Roaming Remedy project will go exclusively toward the purchase of a mobile unit, along with raw materials, services and initial inventiory needed to convert it into a full-service community herbal apothecary (CHA).
The Roaming Remedy vehicle will provide the following:
- bulk herbs, botanicals & tea mixes for nutritive & digestive support
- a rotating menu of locally-sourced products helping to support small-batch herbalists and artisan makers throughout the Appalachian region
- educational outreach to area schools, local businesses and non-profits
- herbal aide & recovery at outdoor festivals and sporting events
Through the completion of the Roaming Remedy Project, underserved populations in Central Appalachia may have the herbal education, tools & resources needed to help support the natural health and wellbeing of themselves and their families. With our mobile concept, Antebel's Roaming Remedy will be able to reach more people where they are, making self-care and wellness more accessible to those in need.
The project aims to connect people with plants, inspire creativity and teach others the joy of using plant-based, natural, wild gathered & organic remedies for everyday wellbeing. Educational workshops held throughout the year will help to further Antebel's project mission, raising funds and awareness, while also inspiring creativity in a fun, interactive learning & hands-on environment.
